Continuing Education

The State of Ohio requires all Licensed Dentist and Hygienists to acquire 24 hours of continuing education per year. Our Dental Assistant and Business Office Staff are also encouraged to take courses which interest them and pertain to their field of work.

Patient Safety

The Office of Maggie A. Kleem adheres to the highest professional standard of cleanliness, sterilization and radiation control. Our staff is CPR certified and medical emergency kit (including oxygen) is on the premises at all times. Our x-ray equipment is tested and certified by the State of Ohio. We maintain an eyewash station that is located in our dental lab for the vision safety of our staff and our patients.

Sterilization

We know that preventing the spread of infectious diseases is critical and have spared no expense in meeting and exceeding the guidelines set by OSHA and The ADA of the State of Ohio. All instruments are scrubbed and placed in a chemical bath. Instruments are then bagged individually or as procedure kits and then autoclaved at high temperatures and pressures. Our instrument bags have the added protection of dots which change color when autoclaved correctly. Test strips are run through our sterilization systems every two weeks and are read by an independent third party company to ensure our system is working efficiently. If an instrument can not go through our sterilization protocols, it will be discarded as medical waste after each patient.

Pre-Medication

Patients with certain medical conditions (e.g. Valvular heart conditions, artificial joints) may need to pre-medicate with antibiotics before their dental visits. Please inform us if you have any issues that may require pre-medications or other medical alerts that will affect your dental visit. These conditions can be found on the medical history form.
